The game could be considered a reverse form of dodgeball, because instead of trying to hit people in the middle with the ball, players attempt to keep the ball away from them. How to play Monkey in the Middle:

  • There should be at least 3 players
  • Decide who will be the monkey and will throw the ball first
  • Form a circle and spread out. The monkey should be in the middle
  • Pass the ball to anyone except the monkey
  • If the monkey catches the ball, he or she will switch places with the one who threw the ball last

The goal of this game is to not let the monkey catch the ball.

The tips I can give is to be alert. The monkey should jump high while the “throwers” should throw higher.
